About Us

"Amazing things are afoot in the universe.  Don't  underestimate your role in it.  This planet reflects what is happening to each of us individually.  We are all connected. . . . And service is our reason for being here."

    -  William Gammill   p. 153 of The Gathering--Meetings In Higher Space

Our intention is to support, encourage and share information about mystical, monastic, contemplative and creative ways of living.

We place special emphasis on prayer, meditation, lectio divina (reflective reading of sacred or uplifting texts), journaling, fasting, hospitality, worship, being part of or affiliated in significant ways with spiritual and religious communities, sacred music and songs, simple living, frugal living, creative and artistic expression and loving service to others, including humans, animals, the environment and the planet.

Established in October, 2006 by Cynthia Kiteley Lee, the Mystical Order of the White Rose was created in response to intuitive guidance received by Lee, both with regard to the Order's name and its mission.

Lee says that she "has always felt powerfully drawn to and attracted by the  monastic way of life, as well as other mystical and contemplative religious and spiritual traditions and practices.  When I was in my teens I seriously considered becoming a nun.

The Mystical Order of the White Rose joins ancient and modern ways of walking the mystical path."

She notes that: "There are, increasingly, modern mystics and contemplatives who are moving beyond--or who have never even engaged with--traditional monastic and contemplative practices, communities and devotional materials.

Lee feels that the Mystical Order of the White Rose and its eclectic, ecumenical, multi-faith, multi-media online devotional resources "spring from and speak to a distinctively modern mystical and spiritual sensibility that honors and draws deep nourishment from a wide range of cross-cultural, traditional monastic and contemplative writings and practices."
