January 2

The sun so central

in my cosmology is

more than random radiance restrained,

more than quaint teachings,

more than urgent belief...

It is a deep down glory

a cellular cri du coeur

an ancient reverence that

shines through

the skins of my lives...

Shines in the shimmer of alchemists’ gold

shines in the

folds of fairy tales

the mists of myths

and the upturned faces

of sundancers blood

trickling down their chests

red as the skies

inflamed by the the fiery orb.
