The Order was created to provide devotional resources, information, inspiration and a place of connection for mystics and contemplatives, especially those drawn to traditional and/or new forms of western and/or eastern monasticism. Your suggestions and submissions of material for the newsletter or website are welcome. Please send them to: mysticalwhiterose@gmail.com.
"Faith is a mystery; it is a journey without a map. It unfolds like a rose, sometimes tightly budded, sometimes in full bloom. When you think it has withered, it sprouts somewhere else. When you think you've got it figured out, you discover a deeper layer of petals or a path you never knew existed."
- by Sue Irsfeld from an article entitled "Journey of Faith" in the May 2001 issue of Ophrah Magazine.

PHOTOGRAPHER, MARKETER AND MYSTIC, JACQUELINE MIGELL SHARES IMAGES OF ROSES

Jacqueline Migell's stunning images of flowers and plants, many of them roses, leap out at you, demanding your full attention. It's easy to see why Jacqueline says "the flowers speak to me and tell a story. They are so fragile and last such a short time. It's like there are fractals in flowers. Everything has a pattern." You can view these photographs at the links below: If you sign up for a free account with the service she uses you can click on the thumbnail size photographs and get the greater impact of large, full-size images.

Jacqueline started her creative career in writing, drawing and singing when she was a toddler. In her 20s she took up photography and more recently plunged into post-modern metal and painted glass jewelry-making. Her poetry and original songs have also offered outlets for her restless, brilliant muse.
A resident of Garden Grove, California, Jacqueline grew up in New England, in the Boston suburbs. She earned a B.A. in political science and an M.B.A. in marketing at Indiana University in Bloomington. Shortly after graduating she was offered a job in New Orleans by Ford Motor Company, took it, and fell in love with the warmth and funky charm of her new home.
After finding out about the The Oyster Loaf Poets group in New Orleans, Jacqueline joined it and has happy memories of laid back gatherings and poetry readings at the Maple Leaf Bar and in the homes of group members, including Everette Maddox.
Weaving between high pressure corporate marketing positions and passionate bursts of consuming creative activity at home, Jacqueline learned to work well in very different worlds using very different "skill sets."
She acknowledges that "I just wasn't cut out to live a completely alternative lifestyle dedicated to my artistic pursuits, like the actors and artists you hear about who wait on tables in restaurants and lead very financially precarious lives. I don't do 'precarious' well. Financial security and material comforts are important to me, and I enjoy the intellectual stimulation of doing marketing research and analysis."
